There was a time when function, utility, contemporary technology, the spiritual values and taste of a specific era constituted an organic whole. That world is long gone. Due to the transforming economic, technological and ecological environment and the recent changes in sciences, society and human relations, artists of the 21st century are forced to face and respond to brand new and exciting challenges of immense importance. Thus, the balance of the world has to be restored by responding to the specific demands of our age.

Art, revival and responsible participation

While today’s global networks have become overcrowded, we tend to be more and more ignorant of our immediate environment. This lack of awareness is becoming a most painful experience for local communities. We believe that there is a need for responsible intervention and participation by artists striving to create a future for our communities by mobilizing art, technology, entrepreneurial spirit and innovation. Art, design and communication between people are able to change this world if they do not restrict their efforts to satisfying existing demands but try to discover new ones.

Openness, freedom, awareness

In the Institute of Art and Design of BKF we offer free passages between the branches of art covered in a similar approach, creating a special learning environment, where in addition to the invaluable experiences gained from teamwork, teaching takes the form of a master-student relationship. We believe that this is the way to help students become open, creative artists who are able to make free and conscious choices about the specific form of media they wish to use, creators with leading-edge technical knowledge and skills who are able to follow and react to the constant changes of the world.
