Institute of Behavioural Science

INSTITUTE OF BEHAVIOURAL SCIENCE

The Institute of Behavioral Science teaches behavioral and communications techniques that students best benefit from in their future personal and professional life. Our objective is to train experts who are able to successfully communicate both verbally and in writing, i.e. professionals who have acquired the skills to make high impact presentations, lead fruitful business negotiations, manage and resolve conflicts, write press releases, business letters and appear in the media eliciting the desired goal, etc.

Trainings: The most efficient method for communications skills development, the so-called training technique, is considerably different from traditional teaching practices. Students take part in a full-day intensive training that provides a unique, individual experience with feedback relating to their own communications performance. They practice situations that would be too risky or dangerous to try in real life. Since our highly reputed trainings are very popular among students, you should apply for these elective courses in time.

Courses: Each of our courses covers a key area of communication: the development of personal efficiency and communications skills, business presentation, negotiation techniques and the handling of various types of media. The acquisition of theoretical knowledge is enhanced by case studies and situational exercises making it a real experience. Our courses from protocol through business communication and reasoning techniques to public appearance all constitute key steps in forming a professional behavioral conduct which is in turn the basis of success at the workplace.

Our teachers and trainers are experienced professionals with special qualifications in the area of speech therapy, psychology, sociology, economics and journalism, who often work on the topic at hand by mobilizing students and engaging them in a playful way. The head of the program, Dr. habil Erzsébet Németh, speech therapist and psychologist, is one of the most widely-known authorities on national communications research and training, her writings being among the most popular textbooks in Hungarian higher education.
