Saturday: The Erasmus students and all the members of ESN BKF met at the university campus at 1 pm. We opened the afternoon with different funny name games. These helped us not only to learn each other’s name but to tear down our personal barriers and be relaxed and open towards each other.
Then we separated into two groups and the “Mission Impossible” has begun. Each group had to answer a lot of questions and had to complete different tasks, such as writing the Erasmus song, taking some funny pictures of the group, collect 30 reasons “why is it good to be Erasmus student?”, do a little theatre atc, etc. It was all about working together, getting to know each other, and most importantly: having fun together.
After the mission was completed, the kitchen crew has left and started preparing Hungarian dinner for the whole group. Meanwhile the rest of the people have stayed at the university and continued group building with “speed dating”, portrait drawing and other fun games.
Dinner started around 8.30 at Budapest Budget Hostel. The kitchen crew did a great job presenting the famous paprikás krumpli and somlói galuska to our foreign students. The group was delighted to have some AIESEC trainees coming from all over the world joining us.
There was a small party after dinner with some great Hungarian wine and palinka. Around midnight half of the group continued partying at a big club called “Corvin tető” (at Blaha Lujza square) and the others who were tired, went home.
At the end we had a great day and night together, and we hope everyone has enjoyed it. And the adventure continued.
Sunday: On Sunday we met at 1.30 pm at Blaha Lujza square. The roof of Corvin Shopping Centre was our first stop, where we spent two hours ice-skating. Those who don’t like skating were invited to drink a coffee, tea or hot wine while laughing at the others when they fell (which happened quite often).
After enjoying the fresh air and skating, we went up to the castle district to watch a spectacular exhibition at the National Gallery.
Before the end of the day we visited the historical labyrinth, the amazing tunnels that twist just beneath the Buda castle. The tunnels were really dark and we only had paraffin lamps to help us find our way. It was a little bit scary, but lots of fun!
We all were really tired after such an eventful weekend, however some of us still had the energy to go to the “Csendes Pub”, where we had a nice chat and some beer.
If I want to summarize the whole weekend: we had an amazing time together and we will try to organize more and more fun ESN programs in the near future.
