2012 Fisher Forum
The Conference on Political Spaces in Eurasia: Global Contexts. Local Outcomes was held on June 14-15, at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, USA. The lecturers invited to the conference included internationally renowned researchers and experts in the fields of political communication and political marketing.
The presentations were arranged in six panels including – among others – the following topics: electoral mechanics and dynamics, political perspectives and prospects, globalization and convergence in the public space of international politics. The most preeminent international authority on political marketing, Bruce Newman was also present at the conference delivering a lecture on the A Paradigm Shift in Global Politics: the Role of Political Marketing.
As the only Hungarian participant, Dr. Jolán Róka, Vice-Rector for International Relations of BKF was invited to the conference. Her lecture focused on the Campaign Strategies in European Union and National Elections in Hungary.
The closing event of the conference was a tour in Springfield where participants paid a visit to the Abraham Lincoln Home and Presidential Museum and the Tomb of the late president and his family.
